A Push for Some Nature Colouring~

After having a bad cold for days...weeks now, I am ready for sunshine and colour, any colour is better than the drab gray and brown that has shown around for weeks now.  I am talking anything from the powder white of clean fallen snow, to spring, summer and autumn colours, but for now, I must share some of what has been and hope that the new kind comes on soon, for it would perk me up so very much, how about you~

You know that there is nothing quite like an American Robin to usher in a cheerful day~

Endless Summer Hydrangea, Mediterranean posies, Tulips and Roses all brighten a day~

Jewelweed helps if your skin happens to come in contact with Poison Ivy and Oak and they are also so pretty too.  They are hidden away for now, but soon ;) ~

Bathing Robin, Cracking Blue Jay and Jewelweed for Sure~

The lovely apricot, coral and crimson flowers shown in this post are some of my best friends... Jewelweed... 
If you have been out taking bird photographs, or maybe just checking out nature, and you suddenly find yourself  rubbing up against Poison Ivy, Jewelweed can help.  I just break it off at the stem and rub it on the area that I touched the Poison Ivy with and if done in good timing, I don't rash out.  If I have no jewelweed nearby, I am in big trouble.  We have both on our 2 acres and the Jewelweed has always come in handy.  It is the last of the spring summer flowers to die off just before the freezing weather comes~

Ever since I cared 6 weeks for Bleu, the young blind Blue Jay, I have a fondess for these birds.  This one was checking out the acorn pile I presented into the backyard.  I carried 21 gallons from my deck and driveway into the yard for the wildlife.  From mid summer until this week, every year, we have tons of acorns dropping onto our deck that surrounds the house.  These tiny acorns can also crack a windscreen/windsheild of a car...we know~

Jewelweed, lovely and useful~

This was only my second encounter with the Summer Tanager for the season, and it was brief~

We enjoy many of these cuites, the Tufted Titmouse, around the grove~

Got to love the Nuthatches!

None of our trees get Mistletoe, and I always find their growth interesting to look at~
