Dedicated To the People of Florida and Beyond~

~Hurricane Irma and more on the way~

This post entry is being dedicated to the state of Florida in the wake of what will surely be one of the most catastrophic tragedies to ever hit their state. 

My husband was born there, we lived there, my daughter and her husby live and work in Southeast Florida.

 My oldest daughter was married in the Keys,  she got her degree from FAU and her twin boys were born in Florida.  

We have family and friends that have stayed and I hope and pray that they will be safe
I want to also lift up the people of the islands that were hit so furiously by this storm and those coming in behind Irma~

I am certain that many of you are feeling the sense of foreboding as we watch and live many of the horrific natural disasters happening all around us.  From Hurricane Harvey in Texas that caused death and destruction, ruined thousands of lives for some a lifetime of saving, all lost.  The images of the children, the elderly, the care givers and emergency responders, families, friends, strangers all working together to help one another.  The many cats, dogs, horses, cattle and so many more being cared for, some thousands of miles from their home and family.  Many will never return, but be surrendered by their owners who may not have anyplace for themselves, let alone their pets now.  With all of the marches that took place just two weeks ago and the diversity of beliefs in those marches, now all pulling together to help each other, regardless of colour, race, or faith.

I called my daughter the other morning and told her that I was really getting concerned about the weather down where they live and what the forecast was for Hurricane Irma a category 5 hurricane that would reach them tomorrow.  I could hear the clear concern in her voice.  She got to work making plans, talking to her boss, her crew, making contact with her husband, landlord, family and friends as to what their were planning.  We are so very thankful that they left when they did in their evacuation zone.  They arrived at 7:30 on Wednesday morning, and beat the masses of people trying to flee.  They are near by now and surrounded by family, friends and safety.  

Three hurricanes working at this time, an earthquake, tsunamis, and forest fires in some of our states...all very distressing.
And for those who don't believe in Global Warming...good morning, time to awaken!!!

Please lift up good thoughts, prayers, for all of those in harms way.

This week's presentation will be on the Ruby-throated Hummingbirds and White-tailed Deer and something I bet that you have never seen before...shhh you will have to wait and see~

Wild Bird Wednesday

I have 6 Hummingbird feeders with multiple feeding stations on them, but we have terrible territory wars at the feeders every day, all day long.  

In this set you will see two hummers take one another to the ground.  Most don't get hurt, but easily could~

We have lots of juveniles this time of year as well as new birds coming down from the North daily on their migration route~

People will tell me they are surprised that hummers perch, they thought they were always in motion...now that would not be a good thing~

More from last month on Mannie and her twin fawns, The Thin One brought us a surprise, and something I bet you have never seen before~

OK, get ready, coming up very soon now, too adorable~

Then one of the two month old fawns leaped upon it's mother's back and rode as she walked a few steps, before sliding off from the other side ;)

The Thin One and her twin fawns was a great surprise.  One of them will come ahead of everyone for corn and gets very close to me when I feed them, while the Doe stomps around and gives her blowing warning~
