Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

Quite the Prolific Little Breeders~

House Wrens are quite the little prolific breeders. Sometimes a male may have two females in two different nests at the same time and make 200 visits to each nest daily. While they are huge insect eaters, they can also be quite a burden to other birds in the area, for they are territorial and can be aggressive toward the other birds. Our next door neighbor had a hanging gourd and the Wrens made their nest inside. It was fun for the two little girls that live there to observe the birds as they came and went. I cannot know for sure how many fledglings left the nest, but when the parents brought the meals, it was quite loud and busy from within the gourd~

Wrens and Sunflowers~

Wrens and sunflowers, that is what they were this day and then they were gone, not the wrens, but the sunflowers.  Sometimes I want to put little signs up, especially out in the wild, when I see natural growing sunflowers thriving and little wrens and others taking of the seed...special yes...  Evidently I was the only one that thought so because two days after these images were taken a bulldozer type of equipment came along and buried all of the sunflowers beneath tons of debris...urghhh.  Sure the wrens and others shall fly away to another location, but if this rig had just dumped his load just fifteen, twenty feet further away, the lovely sunflowers still loaded with seed would still be there as well~

House Wrens setting up a rather ornate house & ousting intruders~

This little pair of House Wrens began building their nest in this quite ornate birdhouse recently..  They now are feeding young ones, but so far no images.  While they were busy bringing in the materials, two intruders kept having to be chased away.  One day, they even had an American Robin thinking it may fit in this tiny hole, too cute~
