White-throated Sparrow Saying Happy St. Patrick's Day~

Very soon, actually any day now, they shall be gone, back to their breeding territory and I shall miss their loveliness and song. They along with the Dark-eyed Juncos make the garden happy throughout the winter and then when they are gone, I really miss them. Here are 2 of the White-throated Sparrows that made a visit last week when we had a bit of snow.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, Happy Weekend~

  4. Hi Mary, If I remember rightly your friends the White-throated Sparrow have a rather monotonous whistley song. As you say though they are welcome in any garden in the depths of winter with their cheery nature and happy faces. Enjoy your weekend too.

  5. Mary, these are indeed delightful little birds. Seeing them certainly brings a big smile to my face. Your photographs of the White-throated Sparrow are especially beautiful with the fluffy snow and the green pine tree needles in the background. I will mist the pretty juncos too. Lovely post!
