ReplyDeleteI see our Great Spotted on most of my walks but they rarely perch where I have been able to get a clear open shot ... maybe one day!
The shots of the Pileated bring back happy memories of seeing that species albeit somewhat distant when we made a brief visit to W G Jones State Forest (Texas) nearly 10 years ago.
My you have been busy looking up those trees and taking all those fine pictures of red and black woodpeckers mary. Sorry Downy but Pileated is my favourite - nothing personal.
