I had just about give up hope, and was getting ready to head back to the car, telling myself, OK 2 More Minutes...and then I am Out of Here;))) and then there it was just like that. What a rush to see these beautiful Falcons for the first time...just an outstanding event for me!
Sometimes I could just kick myself for not knowing my camera any better and this chance encounter was one of those moments. I not only wanted to kick myself, but even throw myself in a heap...but I resolved just to do my best and come home and read the manual for the umpteenth time...Another opportunity will present itself for some spectacular images Monday and I guess it will take me that long to figure at least a couple of pertinent tidbits out.
Hope everyone is having an awesome weekend. Take care~
What a wonderful sighting indeed! Lovely shots as well Mary and I have the same problem with my camera. It is the language that baffles me in those manuals.
ReplyDeletePeregrines are so distinctive and seem to have some inexplicable magic about them. A young bird had lost itself in our sunroom and I had the most wonderful feeling as I took it outside and opened my hands for it to fly away. It flew into the nearest tree, turned around and looked back at me and only then flew off. The eye contact just melted me away.
PS the concert was just wonderful and it was the viola she played, At thirteen she is also principle French Horn player in the school orchestra and plays violin, viola and cello and is self taught in piano and gifted at sports as well as being still a just girl interested in doing things rather than chasing boys. It was a real joy to be part of the preparations for the performance as well.
PPs Petrol prices are through the roof here as well and our distances, like yours, are massive.
Beautiful flight shots, the bird's got a majestic wingspan...Thomas
ReplyDeleteSmashing Peregrines, in flight as well. Beautiful photos Mary.
ReplyDeleteMary, your photos are wonderful! I have difficulty catching the birds in flight... by the time I get it in view and snap, they're gone. :(
ReplyDeleteAmazing bird with its pattern... especially love the first photo
Good thing you waited, this an extraordinary bird...and you got very nice shot of him ;)
ReplyDeleteBrilliant shots Mary. Peregrines are just awesome and so fast in flight I reckon you must have been on the ball to take those super shots.
ReplyDeleteDon't beat yourself up Mary ... these are super shots of a fabulous falcon.
ReplyDeleteExcellent images. What camera are you using?
