Crème de la crème From my Journey~

One must sometimes save the best for last. There were two occasions on our recent journey that turned out two images that were superlative compared to some of the others, at least in my estimation. As I have stated most of my bird of prey images were taken while my husband drove our car going at speeds anywhere from 60 to 75 mph.. Along with this, there is also the tinted upper windscreen/windshield that tended to get in my way. Another huge factor in my missing some/ getting some images was that I had to capture many of my images either through the passenger side window, or past my husband and out of his window. Thankfully both of these birds came in from my side just as we passed and I was able to get better results. The top image was one that was quite fortunate. The bird just missed it's maker by only moments as my husband had to brake to keep from hitting it. The image below was taken of a Red-tail as it flew down from a utility pole where it had been perched. There are a few things left to post from our journey, but these were two favorites that I decided to go ahead and share. Have a splendid week~

  1. Great photos and a wonderful post. Yesterday and Friday I thought of you as I watched a total of 5 Great Grey owls. Hopefully they will be there again Tuesday or Wednesday evening

  4. I think you're right Mary, you did save the best unti last with the shots that really show that bright orange tail. However, I really hope they are not truly the last. Have a great week. Phil
