Tom Turkey Struts his stuff~
Tuesdays seem to have become my day to get out and do some birding in areas that I do not usually venture. This past Tuesday, while driving along a country lane, I spotted something large and dark moving pretty far out in a field high with wild grasses. I pulled off the road and found a Tom turkey strutting his stuff. It was such a great experience, since these are totally wild and not in some barn yard. During my drive from early morning, lasting 4 hours, I came upon several other turkeys shown in these images. The one that is flying, is flying from me, for the window was down, and I guess he had enough of the photo shoot~

"Tom" is an obvious name for a Turkey I suppose but the improbability of the bird and the antics really made me smile. Thanks for sharing that Mary, it will make me think differently of Turkeys now.
