Encouraged, feeling really encouraged...for this coming Friday the 7 th of May, will be three full weeks since brooding #3 for this season began. It is such a great experience, once again, having the hawks truly at my back door, or at least 1/2 an acre away. I hear the female making her grunt like noises, desiring the male to bring her a meal. I hear the male bring her the meal, and the happiness the female shares with her reward for sitting on the nest for so many hours, all alone. Actually, the weather has been warm enough, that she likes to perch in one of the surrounding trees, and keep a watchful eye on her nest. Sometimes, I am near by when the male brings the female her meal. I was doing just this the other day, when to my surprise, the female flew and perched right above me. She must have seen me and wanted to check me out. I was in this position before and while it is a bit disconcerting, I simply keep on taking the images and say a prayer that she knows it is me. She ended up stretching, and preening while my neck was aching more and more. She took her sweet time, just like a female, and after a long ten minutes, she flew back to her nest. She has been receiving most of her meals nest side and once in awhile, on a tree near by~
Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~
