House Wrens setting up a rather ornate house & ousting intruders~

This little pair of House Wrens began building their nest in this quite ornate birdhouse recently..  They now are feeding young ones, but so far no images.  While they were busy bringing in the materials, two intruders kept having to be chased away.  One day, they even had an American Robin thinking it may fit in this tiny hole, too cute~

  1. Looks like 'top dollar' accomodation to me Mary. Interestingly our Winter Wren prefers an open fronted box. Love the 'Spadgers'. FAB.

  2. Nice images. You might want explore using flash fill the next time you photograph the Wrens in the birdhouse to capture catchlight in the eye and more details...Thomas

  3. Thanks to both of you! Thomas, I failed to mention that I took these through a glass window. I am not so savy as to know what I could do to have changed the outcome of these, but always appreciate any help in my direction~
