While searching for the location of the new hawk nest, I came upon my old winter friend the Yellow-Shafted Flicker, now ready to form a bond with it's mate and begin a new generation of same~
Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

I've seen a few Flickers here lately, but always in flight. We have plenty of ants on our property, so they will be looking for lunch before long.
