Horses and an Ivy Covered Cottage~

Tuesday my daughter Brittany rang me up to see if I could help her study for a nursing school test she was going to take.  I told her yes, but to allow me a bit of time to stop and take some photographs as I made my way in her direction. Some of these scenes, I photograph over and over...why...because I like them.  These are for the most part working horses shared in this post.  An old ivy covered cottage...I drove along this lane for many years with never taking any notice and then, my eye's viewing of things changed and there it was all along...how many of us simply miss things that we pass by day in and day out, simply because we are busy...I so enjoy retirement and being able to have an eye for these charming things these days.  The fireplace and chimney is all that remains of this home...was it a fire, was it possibly a tornado that took the home, I can only imagine.  Have a wonderful weekend, and always take care and be safe~

Cat hunting in a foggy air, with frost still on the ground~

These are not work horses, but pleasure horses...I enjoy them all~

I love this row of trees in any season, for now they are still, yet something is budding forth, and I shall look forward to it~

  2. Mary, that is a fabulous selection of local sights and scenes. I have to admit to regularly driving past a number of locations that my inner voice says 'you should stop and take a snap' ... maybe after your post I'll take heed and do just that.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

  4. So many lovely sights you pass along the way. Beautiful photographs! What you say is so very true, if we would only pause and take the time to view what is around us, I think many people would be surprised at what they see. Your wonderful images illustrate this very well. Love the horses! Pretty scenes!

  5. Hope the sun is shining for you and there is a feeling of security around now. We horses all around us too and I agree with the ability to see things differently since taking more of an interest in photography. Yours are super of course. Love the old structure and the lone chimney.
