I Have a Question, and It is Not a Butterfly ;)~

I would so appreciate your help...

Facts...

I have been contributing to "SkyWatch Friday" for over 100 entries...one a week...

I have just begun in past couple of months to contribute to two other memes...

"Mosiac Monday"

and

"World Bird Wednesday"....

It is such fun to share these entries with so many others!

My Question...

When I post an entry for one of these entries...and leave the URL that it was posted under...when one views this...would they not view the intended post entries for that particular meme?

Many of my entries are not being viewed, but rather other post entries either before, or after the one that was meant to be shared.

I know that is a bunch of rambling, but, I am not sure if I am missing something on this.

If I share a SkyWatch Friday entry and then the next day post a new entry...that is the one that people from SkyWacth Friday are viewing much of the time, other than the entry that I had posted for that contribution.

If anyone understands what I am asking, could you please let me know your thoughts. Thanks so much~

Mary

  1. Excellent captures!
As for your question, I don't know why it is that way and hope someone will help you finding the answer.
    Thanks for sharing;o)

  2. Hi , I see the same thing happening. I believe it is because if you leave a comment on someones blog and they click on your name from the comment you left and it takes them right to your blog and your latest post. If the bloggers would click on the link that you leave at the meme like Skywatch it would them them directly to your skywatch entry. I usually try click on the links directly from the skywatch linky. I hope this helps.

  4. when you link to these memes, do you first click on your own entry, copy the url specific to that post, then add that address to the link-up party? if you are just linking your blog address, then it is not getting to your specific post.

    does that make sense?

  6. You are right...you are copying and pasting the specific post to the linky party. So if they click on that link to your entry...that's all they see. But I have you in my favorites so most of the time, I visit by going to that link...which brings me to your whole front page. Anyway...you are right! heehee! ♥♥♥

  7. Are you clicking on the entry, so your URL is the entire entry's post, not just your blog URL? Otherwise, eileeninmd is probably right, people are coming back to your blog from comments you leave for them. Either way, it's a nice selection of photos here!

    Have a beautiful day.

  9. Your pictures are always soooo good.

I have wondered the same thing. But then I don't post as often as I should, so I don't have the same problem you do.

  10. Thanks to all for your help, comments and suggestions...
Here are the steps that I have used to share on a particular meme

    I post a series
Then I view the new post and copy the URL from across the top of that post. I then go to the meme and where it asks for URL, I will paste in the post information from the share I am wanting to contribute. I do not simply use my blog's URL.

Example of problem that I have...I will post something for Mosiac Monday and use this same process and then on Tuesday post a new series and many of the comments are in reference to what should have been made on my Mosaic Monday post, if any of that makes any sense.

The same thing happens sometimes when I contribute to SkyWatch Friday...I will make an effort to share a SkyWatch presentation and people will be saying your sky is lovely on a post that was not even a SkyWatch entry.

I am absolutely thrilled that I receive any comments and so very much appreciate them. It is just that I had wondered about when this happens and evidently, I am not the only one who has seen it. Thank you again so very much...I truly appreciate each whom come to visit me at Tingsgrove.

    Happy week, stay safe~

  11. I think Eileen gave you the best answer to your qestion.
I try to always respond to commonts on my blog. Then I have a choise. Go to the meme and try to find their entry OR hit their link in the comment and try to find their entry that way. It is usually faster. Some people are lazy and give a comment to the first post they see. :) Nice shots!

  12. i came back and saw your response. i think, like eileen said, maybe folks are coming back from your comment rather than the link-up you provide. :)

I love and enjoy each visitor to "Red Shouldered Hawks of Tingsgrove and Beyond." I truly appreciate those who have become followers to my blog and really am encouraged by the wonderful comments. I also enjoy leaving comments and would like to ask that you please make your blog word verification free! You still have top security settings and you still have control over the comments published. It would make it so much easier, if you would consider doing this. I switched several months ago and am thrilled with the results~
