A Great Day~

A great day for me, other than spending time with family and friends would be to take either a walk, or a ride in the country and spend quiet time with me, my camera and nature. That is exactly what I did a couple of days ago. You may remember that back in January, I accidentally dropped and broke my Nikon D-90 camera. I had a loaner from the shoppe, while it was shipped in for repairs. I do not know why I never thought about it then, but as soon as the camera came back and I attached my 70/300 lens, it began to act up. After all when I dropped the camera, it too was attached and also hit the floor with a hard thump. ;( It would make a vibrating type of noise and even though it worked almost every time, it began to get a bit over the top for me. Thus said, the lens has now been shipped back and I am currently using a loaner that has no stabilizer...oh my... this should be fun over the coming couple of weeks, but I think I shall manage just fine, and if not...I will have to gather up some of the many images that I have never shared with you yet~

    Loved the tulip photos! Is the purple fields henbit, it bloomed like that over a month ago here.

    I am sorry about that camera, maybe it is so heavy for your hands! I have long been wanting to have that long lens for the birds, i only have 41-150mm Zuico for Olympus and i cant give justice to the birds i see. Your photos are always very clear and alive, and those flowers above are not exemption. I also love the collage of flowers with horses, what a combination!

    Gorgeous pictures, especially the flowers! :) I am using a Nikon D90, too.. and I have a lense 70-300.. Sometimes I think I do not come close enough the object (ie a small flower, insect..), so I would like to have a real macro, where I can stay closed up to the object.. (saving some money.. uhu..)I've half dropped it on the floor, too, but not that hard.. it was in its photobag, so I think the bag saved the camera....
    I hope you'll get your camera back and fixed!

    Hi Mary, What a shame about your camera, it would be like losing an arm to me. But from your latest post you are definitely making the best of it, and as you say being out there with nature is reward enough. The flower shots with raindrops are just great, so are the horses - they look so serene and relaxed.

    All of the photos are special. What catches my eyes is the reddish-purple of the dead nettle in the fields. It was a year in Kentucky that the nettle was spectacular to see. You captured it. Thanks for sharing
