A Surprise Encounter in The Mix~

My husby and I went to Cave Hill Cemetery on Saturday. I have posted this site once before and it is one of the largest Cemetery/Botanical Gardens in our area. Inside the high brick walls there are a couple of small lakes and ponds. Also inside these walls is a pair of Great Horned Owls, a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks, a pair of Cooper's Hawks and a pair of Sharp Shinned Hawks...that is just to name the Raptors. They have a wide array of ducks, geese and swans and we have also seen a Night Heron there before...sure would like to see it again with my camera at the ready. I was taking some spring blossom images and some close-ups of their bamboo wall, when I caught a glimpse of a large bird. It was a Coopers Hawk and that was a really nice surprise~

  2. Looks like you had a really nice outing in the spring sunshine Mary. The "reflections" picture is brilliantly executed but a well spotted opportunity too.

  4. Sir Cooper really strikes a great pose for you!

You are ahead of us in the flower department.
The buds are ready to burst here too, but sunny days are followed by nights where the temperatures drop to almost freezing. Compared to my first spring here, nature is about three weeks late.
