Juvenile Robin Gets Independent~

While photographing the White-tailed Deer next door the other evening, this young American Robin, was busy listening for and pulling out of the ground a variety of worms and insects.  The adults usually have two clutches a season around here and something that I look forward to the first thing in the morning and the last thing in the evening is being able to listen to the sound of the Robin's song, always brings a cheerful smile my way~

    Hi Mary. Every time I see pictures of American Robin (Turdus migratorius) I see a a colourful version of our common Blackbird (Turdus merula), they are just so alike in many ways and must be very, very closely related.

    What a treat to see this baby! I did not realised the juveniles were so spotty, great camouflage.
