Snow Birds and One Special Snow Girl~

Female Eastern Towhee...you can hear their voice:

We have not had any huge amounts of snow, so far this Winter, but enough to make a pretty backdrop to photography, and just enough for the little girl next door to create this little snow girl;')
Great job Megan with hugs~
I thought her to be so sweet, I had to include her in this post~

Some of my favorite visitors appear in this Winter post, with a female Eastern Towhee, to the wee Red-breasted Nuthatch, the little Downy Woodpecker and of course one of my very favorite birds to visit is the Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers.
I love their voice~

  1. Hi Mary,
Lovely to hear birds that I am not familiar with. The Woodpecker and Sapsucker are really great birds, similar to a couple of 'our' woodpeckers.

  14. Awesome shots of the sapsucker! I saw my first Eastern Towhee last week, but she was very skittish and I couldn't get a decent shot. But you did! Excellent photos, all!

  16. Lovely photos, I am completely new to taking bird photos and must admit I find it difficult. So far I have only managed to take good photos of the resident wood pigeons, and that doesn't feel like proper bird photography as the pigeons live on my roof and are so used to me they don't even flinch when I go outside :-)
