Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

Shorebirds in Downtown Louisville, Kentucky~

Someone said not too long ago... "We don't have Gulls in Kentucky".  Well of course we do!

See, here is my proof~

In fact these were taken in downtown Lousivlle, Kentucky, along the Ohio River~

The very muddy Ohio River~

My friend Sandy and I had lunch out on a cafe balcony, and this Gull grabbed up one of my crisps.  Hey Mr. or, Mrs. Gull where is your tip...

I know that  a Great Blue Heron hangs out here, but no where in sight this day, however, I wanted to share it, because I liked the water reflections and besides, it adds a spot of colour to this post;')~

On a different day, as my husby, our pup-cub and I were driving along the same river, I spotted a bird that I had never seen on our river banks...
a Double Crested Cormorant...very cool~

The images below...Double Crested Cormorant making poo spray in the water...
well what would you call it and still give these images dignity~

That is the ending of this post.  I will see you soon.  Have a Happy day where ever in the world you are~

  2. Whoever said we don't have gulls hasn't looked very hard. I photographed Ring-billed Gulls all winter long on a nearby lake. Granted, they aren't around as much during the summer, but we certainly have them. You got some great photos! Gull flight shots are among my favorites. The cormorants are fairly common, too.

  4. Terrific flight shots of the Gulls! We have Cormorants right nearby in a slough at the edge of town. It's always fun to see something different.

  5. You surprised me today with your gull pictures Mary - not often on your blog I know but I like the shots and I'm going to have to look up the species now. I just sent you nad husby a watercolour of the Bee Eaters, just to inspire him into getting out his brushes.

  6. Gosh, you got some really nice photos, Mary. Looks like a beautiful day for lunch outside, even if the gulls were trying to steal it. xo
