Red-tailed Hawk at Dawn~

The Blackbirds were escorting the Red-tailed Hawk away from me and toward the sunrise, which made for some dramatic images~

I got pretty close, before the hawk gave up in flight, only it just kept flying back and forth from one utilty pole to the other, until the other birds gave chase and then it was off into the sunrise  Bet you thought that I was going to say sunset, didn't you;')~

  19. Hi there. Great photos, its amazing how the Red-tailed Hawk almost looks through a person. What a stare. I live in Toronto, Canada, and recently, my wife, Jean, and I came upon an adult Red-tailed Hawk in Markham, Ontario. We have read that stalking a hawk is no easy task, that you have to sneak up on them when they are looking the other way. Well, this Hawk was only looking one way when it landed, and that was right at us! Fortunately, we had our camera with us and got some good pictures and video. Among the video, a scene where the Red-tailed Hawk goes after a Great Blue Heron in a tree. We have posted them for anyone interested at: http://frametoframe.ca/photo-essay-red-tailed-hawk-sighting-markham-ontario
