Greetings From a Variable Dancer~

Thank you all so very much for your thoughts and prayers, and kind words these past days and weeks!

I am on bed rest today and tomorrow and feeling as well as should be expected.

Let me say it the way I did to those who have called me...

Your child practices her dance steps, her twirls and arabesques, and does it perfectly.
She goes to her big recital, and all of the family and friends are there to cheer her on
and she refuses to go on stage.
You have gone through all of the movements and your child will not perform, even though, you know that she can...

The heart monitor strips have been showing Supra Ventricular Tachycardia events for 2 weeks now.
The surgeon came in before the surgery to explain that he also saw some Premature Ventricular beats occurring in the lower chamber and that the procedure would help this as well.  Some of this is normal in older people, but he said mine was a bit over the norm.

So I went through everything that has to happen before and during and now after any kind of surgery...minor, or major.
The surgeon did his part as well, and then my heart would not be forced into an event, and thus said, the Dr. could not do an ablation of a pathway, that would not perform.

He was disappointed, and that made me as well.
I have to take some medications, a Beta Blocker, and I have to continue to wear the Heart Events Monitor for several more weeks.

It was a long 9 hours in the hospital.  I am home, and I am fine.
This was a little bit of a letdown, but it was always a possibility, and I accept that.
The staff at Baptist Hospital East, the nurses, caregivers and surgeon, were all so very kind and it was at least a pleasant experience.

Thank you again, love and blessings for your weekend~

  1. I'm glad you are home and feeling better. I'm on heart medication for atrial fibrillation (sp?). I think it makes me tired!

  3. We never know why, where or when these irregularities can afflict us. All we can do is to enjoy life as much as we can regardless of the inconvenience they bring.
You certainly seem to be doing that Mary. The sun still shines and an ice cream tastes just as nice, with or without a monitor and despite having to take pills.

Slow down a little, smell the roses more and keep watching those hawks.
