Getting Pretty Close, and Then it Was Gone~

For a couple of years, we have observed a pair of Great Blue Herons at one of the harbor communities near the Ohio River area.  I can almost always get pretty close to one of the pair at a time, and then they take off and fly away...;)~

And then it was gone...so long, until I peek in on them the next time~

  1. One of my favorite birds. I have also played this game many times. Creeping closer and they fly, just far enough away...creeping closer...and on it goes :)

  2. You've got a beautiful set of blue heron photos! We have them also here around, but I only manage to take a photo of them at the distance. They are beautiful birds.
Have a great weekend! Thanks for your visit.

  5. he's a looker! As common as they are and as often as I see them, I hardly ever get photos of these guys for some reason- they seem to flush so easily. Like the flight shots!
