Fourth & Final Sandhill Crane Entry~

This is the final entry for my journey to view the wonderful Sandhill Cranes at the Hiwassee Wildlife Refuge last weekend.  In these images, it gives you a better idea on the land where they have chosen to migrate to for several years now.  Tens of thousands come and it is truly awe-inspiring to hear them.  I felt like I was intruding on something wonderful, maybe from a distant and yet so close.  It was one of the most remarkable nature encounters that I have ever experienced.  Once again, as I described in the first 3 entries, the fog filled sky, the damp misty rain that fell the whole day, gave off a very magical appearance to the images, a soft quality that makes them to me, very appealing~

  6. You got some very atmospheric shots there Mary and I can almost here those cranes calling through the mist. As you say there is nothing quite like witnessing the visible migration of birds, especially of large and vocal species like cranes, geese and swans. I'm going to catch up with your other posts now.
