Bald Eagles in Black and White~

Yesterday I gave myself an early morning Mother's Day gift before two of my daughters took me out for a yummy Japanese meal.  I drove to the privately owned area where the Bald Eagle nest is for the third time since being introduced to it 2 months ago.  I had not been able to go for a month.  I failed to listen to the weather in my quick exit to get a start, and had only driven about 15 to 20 minutes when I came into some fog and then within another few minutes I was right in the thick of it. I was traveling about 30 mph on a two lane country road, when suddenly it seemed, stood 2 firemen with hats and heavy coats on with light sticks slowing me to a stop.  Then to the left of me were two fire trucks and an ambulance.  I drove a little further and a car was upside down in the ditch to my right and it was really smashed badly.  I have no idea the outcome, but it certainly looked very bad to me.  It was not too much further when I was able to pass out of the heavy fog and felt more at ease.  I arrived at the landowners home and they sent me on my way to view the nest.  I had on my knee high wellies and a dark olive green trench that had a hood.  My goal was to stay close to the wooded area and not be seen.  I was almost to the place that I stop to photograph, when I heard a really strange sound.  I had heard Eagles before, but this noise was not what I knew.  I stopped to see what it could be, when from over the tree line came the huge, gorgeous female and she was evidently giving off a warning sound, and I was just as still as a tree, watching, admiring and taking a few nice images.  The smaller male also did some soaring, but quietly and just over the nest area, whereas the female soared over the surrounding area as well.  The gray of the morning lingered and the images while sharp, were not a very pretty colouration, thus, I turned them into black and whites.  My desire is to keep up with this nest, from a distance and to respect the nature of what they need to have this nest thrive and I am certain that there are young upon this nest and that is exciting enough in and of itself~
