Timing Was Picture Perfect~

As an active birder, I am always, always on the look out for birds, even when I am driving...very slowly along country lanes in our county.  I was doing just that on Thursday and it was one of those sweet moments...a gorgeous Red-tailed Hawk was atop a utility pole.  I had just barely passed it by and pulled into a drive way.  I slowly got out of my car with the camera ready and was able to get some pretty darn good captures, even if I do say so myself...and I felt quite pleased with the results~

  6. I too keep an eye to the sky. Hawks so common on the edge of the highway. On a trip to yellowstone last year we returned through North Dakota. Spotted a Hawk on a fencepost. Stopped and took photos. It was a Swainson's Hawk. A hawk I had not seen before.Great photos. When I hear the screeching in the yard it is such a joy to look up and watch the show. Thanks for sharing.
