Seeing Blue is a Good Thing When it is a Bluebird~

These lovely Eastern Bluebird images were taken at Foxhollow Farm in nearby Crestwood, KY~

While I enjoy blue skies, blue coloured birds and flowers, mostly things in nature, I am not a huge fan of the colour blue. Most shades simply bring me down. They always have, and I have tried so hard to like them.

Navy works for me, French Blues, like what many European country side shutters are painted with...I like just fine. Then there are so many other shades of blue, that just do not work for me.

Once I worked with a lady and we shared an office together. She was my superior, even though, the two of us had co-founded an academy together, she had the college degree, thus she was, I guess superior in some fashion.

One day, we decided that the office wall colours should be changed to something fresh. I said anything would work for me, except for a few colours...blue, gray and orange. Guess what her very favorite colour was? BLUE... and the office was painted one of the most depressing shades of blue I had ever seen...I promise if you can mix a shade of gray, orange and blue, without it turning to a muck brown, that was the shade that it was...

Aaah but this post, thankfully is about Eastern Bluebirds, and I adore their lovely colouration, simply put, they are exceptional little beauties and they are such great little acrobatics, as well as they eat so many insects and that too makes me happy. This will be the first of as many as 3 clutches of Bluebirds for this season~

  4. My paradise would have to include bluebirds. Wonderful photos. Thanks for sharing. We have had a pair nest on a house the Little Woman built on our back porch for four years. She sat the house on our grill prior to hanging it up. Bluebirds moved in. Needless to say we have not grilled for four years now.
