Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.

Blue Jay and the Giant Sycamore~

Who among us does not love trees...sadly many do not appreciate them as most of us do. Ever since I was a small child growing up in my very tender years in California and Oregon, before moving to Kentucky, I learned to adore the beautiful conifer trees. Then when I was in the third grade my fondness for them grew even greater, as we rented a bungalow from a couple that ran a garden nursery. In fact our landlord Mr. Theodore Klein would later bring some of the first Yews to this country. There is a lovely place in our county as a result named Yew Dell Gardens. Of the deciduous trees, I must say while I really appreciate them all, my absolute favorites are the gorgeous Sycamore trees. We have a couple of them on the grove and they are amazing. I have two glass vases that each hold several rolled up bark patches from when they peeled away several years ago. This afternoon, I was taking a walk on the 2 acres and watched as a Blue Jay sipped water out of a natural water bowl in one of the arms of this beauty. Such majesty... and I found it wonderful to view this sweet taste in nature, right outside my door~

  1. Wonderful trees. The one you captured with a natures drinking cup for the birds. Great find. Nice to know others appreciate trees as I do.
