You Take the Gray and I Shall Take the Red~

I have stated it before and I will now, and most probably again in the future...after having raised and released 63 Gray Squirrels, and 6 Red Fox Squirrels...my favorites are the Red Fox Squirrels...by far.  When they first arrive they are very sweet to care for and then the Grays become a little more aggressive and less appreciative of your care much more quickly.  The Red species while larger, just seemed more willing to accept the care and roll with it in a very gentle way.  In these images are a male Gray that had just found something yummy and the Red was sitting in a tree with a light rain falling, also a male with something yummy that he had just unearthed~

  1. You really surprised me by saying the Red is bigger than the grey Mary. Our Grey Squirrel, the same as yours, is pretty big so the Red Fox Squirrel must be quite a size. A surprise also that the bigger one is less aggressive. Anyway, have a great weekend with your camera.

  5. The Greys over here are absolute pests and have nearly driven the Red to extinction apart from a few small colonies throughout the UK. I would welcome a Red into the garden anytime.

Lovely shots of both species Mary. Have a great weekend. FAB.
