Super Moon and Super Sunset~

I invite you to check out more 'Skywatch Friday' posts from around the world at:

This past Saturday evening we had what was termed the "Super Moon."  It was termed this due to the fact that is was the nearest the moon had been to earth by 30,000 miles in the last 18 years, and it is supposed to be a very long time until we have this occur again.  I took 3 images, but shall use the only one that I felt worthy of sharing...  I am also posting 4 sunset images that I took back in the late autumn and forgot to use at that time.  I hope that everyone shall have a wonderful SkyWatch Friday and a very delightfully happy and safe weekend~

  1. Here in Northern California the "Super Moon" was hiding behind clouds. You got some wonderful shots, though.

  5. Thank you all very much. As for capturing the one moon image at night. I tried a couple of different setting and this one came out the best. I can usually take fairly clear images of the moon though, just have to practice with your camera's program. I used my 70/300 lens...never use a tripod~

  11. It's delightful to see your photo of the supermoon, since all I saw that night was the underside of clouds. And such lovely warm sunsets to go with the moon view!
