I Feel I Always ? This One ~

Every time that I view, or photograph, or post one of these, I feel that I always question my judgement as to whether, or not I am correct.  So many bird identification books and so many different photographs and so many that look almost right, but they are not, and so many that look like something else and they are not, whew, it gets a little daunting and yet so much fun.  Thus, if I am wrong on this one, just be kind and tell me right out that I am wrong ;)  In these photos it looks like I have captured a first autumn female, but not certain about that either.  Whatever it is, it was and is lovely.  It enjoyed eating some of the very rotten Crabapples from the ground, just before winter hit and ruined the lot of what remained~

  1. Hi!
I've enjoyed your last three posts...
The sky watch for this week is an awesome photo! Love the contrasts of blue, black and white.

Dark eyed juncos are one of my favorite little creatures. The come for the colder months ...but warm my heart to see them.

I've also sent this post to one of my favorite shops: Wildbirds Unlimited.
They are great at identifying birds ~
I hope you are enjoying a restful Saturday ~

  3. Looks ok as a Yellow-rumped Mary but don't know about male or female, but I am sure your local expert birders will help. What is surprising is that I thought all your warblers went somewhere warmer like central or South America where we all should head to warm our winter bones? Enjoy your weekend too.
