Flicker and Frozen Berries~

In all honesty, I do not know if Yellow-Shafted Flickers even eat frozen berries however, I only had 3 images of the lovely Flicker and it needed some colour to brighten up the post and thus, the frozen berries. Soon all of these berries will be eaten by various songbirds and squirrels and more than likely once the process begins, the trees will be empty the first day, or two. We are anticipating a nice winter snow fall this coming Thursday and I love how wildlife knows before the weatherman, how bad it may be, for they become so much more active~

  1. Hi Mary, And thanks for your question about deer and I do think White tailed is bigger than Roe Deer but I'm not an expert on deer. I hope to hear that your knee is feeling more pain free soon. I have OA in both knees and the pain is better once warm weather arrives - hope it does for you. Look forward to hearing if that flicker ate the berries-I guess it would because other bird do so therefore they contain nutrition?

  7. These are wonderful shots Mary! I love the juxtaposition of the red berries, which mirror the red feathers of the woodpecker!
