Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

Preening Mute Swans at Cave Hill~

Cave Hill is not a city, or a town in our area, it is one of the most unique cemeteries in the United States. Not only that it, also serves as a beautiful botanical garden. Some plant life that grows there does not do as well in a surrounding five state area. Many famous people are also buried in this special place as well many US military whom have fought battles and lost in many wars. You can "google" it online and it makes for some very interesting reading. There is a lovely man made lake that is home to a pair of Mute Swans, and assorted ducks and geese. My favorite time to visit is in the spring, when blossoms are absolutely stunning and there are hundreds of acres of flowers, flowering shrubs and trees. There is a pair of Red-shouldered hawks, a pair of Great-horned Owls and a pair of Sharp-shinned Hawks that use the property for their territories among other mammals and songbirds.  The tree that is in a single photo image is where our burial plot is reserved, for I hope many years from now.  My husby served in the Viet Nam war and thus we shall be over looking one of the military burial grounds~
