Old eye injury, surgery, healing and nest of Red-Shouldered Hawks~

Just a quick message to let you know that the Cornea Abrasion that I got from an old cane of a wild rosebush 3 years ago. The ongoing trauma from that which never fully recovered, had become a Recurring Corneal Erosion. Had laser procedure/surgery to begin a healing process. It has been a difficult four days, yet I can tell little glimmers of hope that it truly is beginning to heal. I am so thankful it was my left eye, rather than my right, allows for some photographing, though not too much, for it makes too much stress on the let one. Thank you for thinking of me, may your week be filled with all of the beauty that natures gifts to us.

By the way, the young Eyas should have been hatched over the weekend, yet I have a very bad view of the nest. I must creep around ever so carefully this season, for the nest is very high, in a heavy section of trees and the adults could be perched just about anywhere, when I enter their territory~ It may take a couple of weeks to see the fluffy white down, I have waited a year to view. These images are taken from quite a good distance and I have to really trek carefully around Poison Ivy to even get to where I can get these captures. There is one more side to the nest that I might be able to view from yet, it is in an area that is privately owned and fenced in, so have to wait and see. More later~

  2. I do hope the healing process continues Mary so you can soon painlessly view the wildlife around you and soon get a view of those young Eyas. Best wishes FAB.
