Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

Fun, fun, fun...went on a Bald Eagle hunt. Along the Ohio River, between Louisville and New Albany, we have an island area, and upon it is one Bald Eagle's nest, several Osprey nests and several Great Blue Heron's nests, all lined up along the tip tops of trees. I learned about this nest from the local newspaper and so my husby and I went looking. We found the nest alright, but it would have taken a digiscope plus to get a good image. The Bald Eagle's nest is the second one from top left of each image. Later, I caught one of the Great Blue Heron's close up and at least felt pleased with those images~

*Note: Huge concern...Look up..."google"... "Thunder Over Louisville", it is a massive celebration leading up to the world famous Kentucky Derby. This coming weekend is when the event shall be held. There will be what is billed always as the world's largest fireworks display, as well as a very large air show. There is great concern about what shall become of eggs, and or chicks of any of the named above, as the shows are within ear shot of the nest area~

  2. ugh, fireworks are one of my least favorite things! Hopefully the noise pollution won't bother them. Surprisingly, with birds, it seems that noise pollution doesn't cause much harm usually.
Your day sounds like great fun and i love the photos you got - that great blue is living up to his name!

  4. Congrats! Your photos turned out great. I can picture the mama Eagle in her nest, just by remembering our great afternoon on the river.
