Cherish is my favorite word, and I cherish the ability of turning the routine into a beautiful moment.
Nature creates in me, a spiritual and meditative time to bring peace, harmony and balance, into an otherwise ordinary day~

These White-throated Sparrows seemed to know that I was taking their photograph, for they kept cocking their head from one side to the other and would take a look-see my way~

Several of our bird feeders are right out side the windows facing one of the side gardens.  Songbirds have good protection from the wind and severe weather there.  We planted several evergreen bushes and spreaders going on 25 to 30 years ago that have grown to be able to support excellent coverage, yet still looks nice in the yard.  They are especially lovely when they have a layering of snow on them, and then the birds really show themselves as well.  When without water, snow is a good thing for a drink after their feeding too. There are two colour variations and both are shown in this post. 1. Your birdphotography is just marvellous, I love them all fluffed up to keep out the cold. I wish we could knit them all little woolly socks to keep their tootsies warm.

  2. You got some great photos of this bird. They are so pretty. I like the one where he is facing left with his chest all puffed out :-) That last shot is really pretty. Mine are always sitting on the ground in an ugly mess of seeds.

  3. Aren't they simply beautiful!! My guess is they kept saying, "Come on Mary, one more photo". :))
